Milford Sound Scenic Flight
If you’re pushed for time and can’t take in the cruise, this trip provides a spectacular overview of Milford Sound and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks along the way. This Milford Sound flight is an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience.
Crossing the mountains at altitude from the Mount Aspiring National Park into the Fiordland National Park, you’ll soar above snow-capped mountains, glaciers and glacial rivers before descending into Milford Sound. Here, you’ll have close up views of Mitre Peak, glaciers and the Stirling and Lady Bowen Falls. Once you’ve taken in the panoramic views of the Sound, we’ll fly you back to Queenstown via one of New Zealand’s tallest waterfalls—the Sutherland Falls—and over more mountains to look down on the valleys and the road that makes it way from Te Anau via the Homer Tunnel to Milford Sound. Due to weather conditions that are common in this area we sometimes need to detour from our desired flight path, but we will always ensure you are safe, comfortable and get to experience fantastic views on our Milford Sound flights . All seats aboard our aircraft are window seats and our pilots love to provide an interesting and informative commentary.

Milford Fly Cruise Fly
Our most popular Milford Sound tour is our Fly-Cruise-Fly.
No trip to the South Island is complete without visiting the breathtakingly beautiful Milford Sound. The fiord itself extends 16km inland from the Tasman Sea, with sheer granite cliffs extending up to 1700m above sea level. Like all the fiords and valleys in the Fiordland National Park, Milford was carved by five different glacier actions during the last great ice age 75,000 to 14,000 years ago. Some glaciers still remain, with the large blue cracking ice-falls providing a stark contrast to the rainforests below.
With between seven and eight metres of rainfall per year, Milford Sound is the wettest place in New Zealand. The lush rainforests cling to the cliff faces while seals, and the occasional dolphins and penguin ply the waters below.
You’ll leave from Queenstown Airport for the Fly-Cruise-Fly Milford Sound tour, with a guaranteed window seat, soaring across three mountain ranges, magnificent alpine valleys, lakes and glaciers into Fiordland National Park, New Zealand’s largest National Park. After arriving overhead Milford Sound, we will descend into the fjord to give you a close up of the features that make up this unique landscape before landing at Milford Sound Airport. Your pilot will escort you to the boat terminal to join our cruise boat partners, on the Gem of the Sound to enjoy a 2hr cruise of the fjord. Your journey will take you out to the Tasman Sea where you’ll encounter some of the wildlife that makes up this region. Expect to see seals and occasionally dolphins and penguins as you pass close to magnificent waterfalls and sheer granite cliffs, while your skipper provides you with a detailed and entertaining commentary of the region and its history. Berthing back at the wharf, you’ll be met by your pilot and escorted back to your awaiting aircraft. After leaving Milford, you’ll climb out over more snow-capped mountains on a different flight path, returning over Lake Wakatipu and descending back into Queenstown.
Our pilots pride themselves on providing an entertaining and knowledgeable commentary covering the entire flight. They love what they do and they will go out of their way to make you feel special on your Milford Sound tour. We can provide courtesy transport to and from your accommodation and Queenstown Airport, and we have free parking available should you choose to drive yourself.

Mount Cook Scenic Flight
Our Mt Cook Scenic Flights allow passengers to enjoy all that Mt Cook scenery has to offer within half a day, perfect for the traveller who may not have more to time to explore. Only from the air can you truly appreciate the immense scale and spectacular grandeur of this region, and our Mount Cook scenic flights cover many of the landmarks that make this part of the South Island a must-see attraction. As all our aircraft have only window seats, you’ll have an unobstructed view of this fantastic and remote part of New Zealand.
Departing from Queenstown airport, you’ll climb out past Mt Cardrona and over the Wanaka township into the heart of the Southern Alps and around New Zealand's tallest mountain, Mt Cook. Tracking along the Southern Alps offers views of the immense mountains that form this formidable barrier: Mt Glenmary, Mt Hooker and Mt Dechen to name a few. Views of some of the 3,000 glaciers abound, and out to the east as you draw closer to Mt Cook you’ll see the flat plains of The Mckenzie Country.
The region contains many water channels that feed water from glacial lakes Pukaki, Tekapo and Ohau into the Waitaki River, flowing to the East Coast. The Waitaki has 3 hydroelectric dams: Benmore, Aviemore and Waitaki; that generate much of the South Island’s renewable energy. Your pilot will also point out vast snow fields, beautiful turquoise glacial lakes, intricate river systems, glacial formed valleys and the formidable Aoraki-Mount Cook, towering above it all. Once you arrive overhead Mt Cook, we will take you on a grand orbit of the Mt Cook area where you’ll see some of the major glaciers that make up the area: Tasman Glacier Franz, Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. As you turn back toward Queenstown, you’ll have views of the west coast of the South Island and the Tasman Sea.
Our friendly, experienced pilots provide an interesting and informative commentary and are happy to answer any and all questions.
