Bike Tours Arrowtown

This is a fantastic ride for small or large groups with their own transport. Idea for tour groups passing through Arrowtown who are looking for a fun activity to get clients 'off the bus' for a while. We have designed this activity with groups in mind and provide full health and safety, bike trail and bicycle instruction.
After a comprehensive pre ride briefing at our Arrowtown base riders set off along the spectacular Arrow River Bridges Trail. Following this fantastic cycle trail you meander beside two rivers, cross amazing bridges, pass historic cottages and bike through scenic farmland with mountain views until you arrive at the historic Kawarau Bridge build in 1880. Take time to view the bungy jumpers as they leap into thin air. Arrowtown Bike Hire then collects the bikes. Clients make their own way from the Bungy Bridge.


Ride distance 12 kilometers. Ride time approximately 1 - 2 hours.

Allow 3 hours to complete the activity.
Don’t panic if you run out of puff during your ride, we will discuss pickup locations should
you need our Riders Rescue Shuttle!

Our bikes are designed so riders of all skill levels can enjoy an adventure in the
great outdoors. Adult, youth and 24" bikes have light alloy frames to
create the perfect platform for riders to enjoy a scenic ride. A range of sizes
ensure your ride to be a relaxed and comfortable day out.

Bike sizes range from xtra small (14 inch) up to xtra Large (23 inch) frames. Get in touch if you have special requirements or questions to ask about our group products.

Full day rental of a quality front suspension bike from 9 am- 5pm (summer September to April) and 10am - 4pm (winter May to August). Hire includes bike, helmet and trail map. On the day of your hire we will select a suitable bike for you and discuss the trail options and extension of hire if required.

The most popular wilderness trail is the Arrow River Bridges Trail suitable for all skill and fitness levels. Riders start by following the banks of the Arrow River under a canopy of willow trees, then cross amazing suspension bridges to arrive at the famous Kawarau Bungy Bridge.
Then you can continue to pedal through our wine country along the Gibbston Valley Trail. Other options to enjoy on your day ride may include gold panning, swim and sun bath at Lake Hayes or picnic your way around the spectacular Queenstown Trail.
Bike sizes range from extra small (14 inch) up to extra Large (23 inch) frames.
Youth Mountain Bikes are for 10-12 year olds.
These are adult bikes available at a reduced youth rate.

Our bikes are not suitable for the Coronet Loop Track, Macetown Road, or river crossings.

This popular self guided tour starts at our Arrowtown Bike Hire base at 59 Buckingham Street, Arrowtown. Equipped with a quality front suspension bike, you start this beautiful riverside ride under a canopy of spectacular Willow trees. Crossing purpose built suspension bridges you ride through open farmland with stunning mountain views and pass over breath taking canyons until you reach the historic Kawarau Bridge, home to AJ Hackett Bungy. A short ride then takes you to your final stop, Gibbston Valley Winery. Here you join a wine expert and sample some fabulous local wine.. Transport is then provided for you and your bicycle back to Arrowtown. Ride distance 14 kilometres. Ride time 2 1/2 hours. Trail is undulating gravel trail and classed easy/intermediate. We suggest you arrive at 9.30 am, to depart on your bike by 10 am. We will collect you from Gibbston at approximately 1.30 pm returning to Arrowtown by 2pm.

With a range of trails suitable for all fitness levels, riders can cross the famous Kawarau Bungy Bridge, pedal past world famous vineyards along the new Gibbston Valley Trail, or cycle and gold pan along the Arrow River. Our bikes are suitable for 12 years and older.
