OVERVIEW
We have designed this as the ultimate New Zealand photography tour! Learn from four different New Zealand photographers on an 18-day experience, showcasing the South Island's iconic highlights and hidden gems. Timed perfectly to capture the best of the autumn colours in Central Otago, then travel through the classic southern landscapes, adorned with golden hues and onwards to Mt Cook and Milford Sound, along with some of the country's exceptional coastal wildlife. You'll travel with two tutors throughout, spending multiple nights in most locations so there's time to shoot a place properly rather than just pass through.

Expert Tuition, Every Step


For the first five days of the tour, you'll be based in Wanaka on our Autumn Masterclass with Richard Young & Glen Howey. The workshop offers a rewarding blend of tuition and post-processing sessions, as well as 4WD trips into remote areas to capture the best autumn colours. You'll hone your skills and technique while shooting stunning autumn landscapes and abstracts. You'll then join Ken Wright & Spencer Clubb to explore further highlights and hidden gems of the South Island's coastal and mountain landscapes.
Iconic Landscapes & Wildlife
We begin in the high country of Mt Cook National Park, photographing New Zealand's highest peak, before travelling to the Otago Peninsula and the Catlins Coast — full of surprises, from fossilised forests and curious boulders to rare wildlife: penguins, sea lions, fur seals and Royal Albatross. Continuing south to Invercargill and Stewart Island, the tour finishes in the untouched wilderness of Fiordland, cruising overnight through Doubtful Sound before continuing to the majestic Milford Sound, renowned as one of the world's most spectacular landscapes.
