Pure Milford's famously friendly skipper and crew await you aboard Milford Sound's only glass roof vessel for a fun, friendly and informative cruise.


Climb aboard the purpose built Gem of the Sound and marvel at the magic of the fiord through the exclusive glass roofs, large windows, spacious viewing decks and sheltered seating area at the rear.


Travel back in time as you sail the full length of the fiord and back past ancient rainforest, cascading waterfalls, towering cliffs and a selection of Fiordland's local wildlife. Spot New Zealand fur seals lounging on rocks, keep an eye out for curious dolphins who came to surf the wake of the boat from time time and if you're steeped in Fiordland fortune, you may catch a glimpse of the elusive Fiordland Crested Penguin.


Choose to soak up the scenery from the open top sun deck, lounge in the comfortable booth seating with a beer form the bar, visit the skipper in the open wheelhouse or join the crew for a few glacial shower on the foredeck as the boat noses under Stirling Falls.

Free tea and coffee is available throughout the two hour cruise, and additional hot and cold refreshments can be purchased from the licenced Café / Bar.


Cruise departs from Milford Sound wharf, with check in required at the Pure Milford desk in the terminal 20 minutes prior.
Please allow at least 2 hours driving time from Te Anau, and 4.5 - 5 hours from Queenstown.
