Crossing the hidden Wye Creek basin, the path will lead you past multiple tarns, native beech forest and a natural waterfall cascading down into Lake Wakatipu.
After a steep climb, a lookout offers stunning views of the Remarkables face and Lake Alta marks the end of this rewarding day trip - a true representation of our Otago wild!
The glacial lake is a Lord of the Rings Filming location (Dimrill Dale) and the perfect photo spot with its clear water and Queenstown's highest peaks in the background...

Trip Details
The trip to Lake Alta is a 14 km hike over about 6 - 8 hours, making this a perfect way to spend your day.
There are some steep climbs along the way, but the views will make it all worth it. We know you can do it!
Meet up
Your Bushman will meet you at your accommodation on the morning of your pickup . Please ensure you're ready at least 30-minutes prior.

You will also be supplied with protective overalls and a battle pack incorporating valuables pouch and capacity for a further 300 rounds of ammunition.

Smoke Bomb*
