Alpine Adventurer

Heli Hike (Two Way Flight)

This package includes a flight to our trail head the 23km mark on our MTB track the Kaimanawa Descent. From here you gain views of the volcanic plateau, Lake Taupo Basin and Kaimanawa Ranges before beginning your descent down through open alpine terrain.
On this package you designate a pick up time and walk as far as you like in that time. We will pick you up from where ever you get too.

Heli Hike (One Way Flight)

This package includes a flight to the 7.5km or 10km mark on our MTB track the Kaimanawa Descent. From here you gain views of the volcanic plateau before beginning your descent down through native Mountain, Silver and Red beech forest. The descent from the top back down to our base is of 600m with very little up hill.
Please note this package can only be done after 2.30pm as there will be riders on the trail prior to your walk.

Kaimanawa Descent (Heli-Bike)

The Kaimanawa Descent is a 22km down hill mountain biking trail, designed to accommodate intermediate to advanced level riders (Grade 3). The package begins with a helicopter flight from our base to the track start on the Patutu Tops (1673m). The first 10km of you will descend through Kaimanawa alpine tussock country, taking in the spectacular views of the entire Central Plateau and the towering volcanic peaks of the Tongariro National Park. The final 12km of the trail is through New Zealand native mountain beech, a twisting turning trail finishing back at our base on Waipakahi Road.
The total decent for the ride is just under 2500ft! (800m)
The ride itself takes between 2- 3 hours with plenty of time to stop and soak up the views.
Our helicopter can take E-Bikes and regular bikes!

Ruapehu Rush

Start your flight heading over the Tama Lakes then turn and head up over Mt Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom) and Mt Tongariro and the Tongariro crossing.

Central Plateau Passage

Explore a little further with our penultimate experience!
Climb over the North Islands highest volcanic peaks up to 10,000ft. Take in the scale and beauty of the volcanoes and their craters, before venturing North over Lake Rotoaira to the Southern end of Lake Taupo. Get a taste of the Lake Taupo basin and views towards the Northern North island.
Finish by heading into the Kaimanawa Ranges and down the pristine Waipakahi River where you will land at our exclusive mountain landing pad. Hop out and take some photos and videos before the final leg of the flight back down to base.
